You Built a Business on Trust. Now It All Runs Through Your Phone.

Clients trust you. They text you. They want you. That's how you built it. But a business where every client relationship lives in your phone can't grow past you. I know, because I built one, then built it to run without me.

0600A day you'll recognize

It Starts Before the First Walk and Ends With One More Text.

  • 5:45 a.m.A sitter calls out sick. You cover the first two walks yourself.
  • 8:30 a.m.A new client wants a meet-and-greet today. Only you can do it.
  • 11:00 a.m.A dog slips its leash on a walk. Everyone calls you.
  • 1:30 p.m.A client never got her update photo. She's upset, and she wants you.
  • 4:00 p.m.Holiday requests keep coming. You don't have enough people, and you know it.
  • 9:15 p.m.One more text. A new inquiry, a schedule change, a question only you can answer.

A composite of patterns owners describe, not one client's story.

0700What's actually breaking

More Clients Won't Fix a Business That Runs Through Your Phone.

Most pet care owners aren't short on demand. They're short on a business that can carry the trust without them.

Money

Pricing that leaves money behind. Drive time, holidays, and cancellations aren't built into what you charge.

Routes that sprawl. Your service area grows faster than an efficient schedule.

Marketplace pressure. Apps turn you into one more option at a lower price.

People

Finding people you trust. Keys, homes, and pets take a special kind of hire, and keeping them is harder.

Service that depends on who's scheduled. Clients notice the difference, and they call you about it.

Clients

It all lives in your phone. Notes, keys, routines, and preferences, with no system behind them.

One mistake costs a relationship. Trust you worked hard to earn can end in a single visit.

Clients who only want you. That feels like loyalty. It's also a ceiling.

The owner

Every hard call routes through you. Incidents, complaints, refunds, and every last-minute change.

No real time off. The business can't go a week without you.

A business no one could buy without buying you. Right now, the trust belongs to you, not the company.

0800My story

I Built One. Then I Built It to Run Without Me.

7+ figures in annual revenue20+ people$3,000 in paid ads50%+ of new business from referrals

I built a pet services company to seven-plus figures in annual revenue, with more than 20 people, on about $3,000 in paid ads. More than half of our new business came from referrals.

Before the pandemic, we moved clients to memberships. When it hit, the company came through stronger than it went in.

Then my health took me more than a thousand miles away. The company had to run without me, and it did. A company that runs without its founder is a company someone else can buy. So I sold it. The core team is still there.

0900What changes

The Business Starts Carrying the Trust Without You.

  • Checklists so every visit meets the same standard
  • Updates and photos that go out without you sending them
  • Routes that make sense for your team and your margins
  • Holiday planning done months ahead
  • Membership pricing that smooths out the calendar
  • A plan for emergencies, so the call doesn't have to come to you
  • Hiring and training that build a team clients trust
  • A business that runs, grows, and holds its value, with or without you
1000Why me

I've Done Your Job. And I've Run Operations at Every Scale.

I know the 5:45 a.m. call-out, the holiday crunch, and the client who only wants you. I've lived all of it. I'm also trained in integrative pet health, so I understand the care side too.

Before that, I did presidential advance, communications, and operations on White House, DHS, and HHS engagements, ran Fortune 500 campaigns on five continents, and helped small businesses across industries grow past their owners. Advance work taught me to walk every room before the day starts and build backups for the backups. That's what a holiday season needs.

Big-company discipline, sized for your pack.

See What a Pet Parent Sees Before They Call You.

I review what a pet parent finds when they search for you: your website, your listings, your reviews, the alternatives they see beside you, and what happens when they try to book. You get the findings in writing, with what to fix first. No call required.

I take on a few of these each month.

1300Questions

Before You Reach Out.

I'm a solo sitter. Is this for me?

The complimentary review is a great place to start. The best fit for an engagement is an owner with a team and a business that still runs through them.

Do I need to be on the marketplace apps?

No. They can help early on. But demand you own is worth more, and it means you're not competing on price next to strangers.

Will this take more of my time?

It shouldn't. The goal is to take decisions off your plate, not add meetings to it.

How does an engagement start?

With a diagnostic of where the business is actually stuck. We agree in writing on what we're building, then build it in defined phases. If we find more than the diagnostic showed, we decide together what comes next.
